FitLife Martial Arts – Arguably the best martial arts school on the Gold Coast. Their website did not reflect their brand or clearly communicate their selection of offerings.

The Overview

FitLife Martial Arts came to us because their current website was getting around 600 hits per month and zero conversions.

Upon analysis, we found their homepage was lacking a direct call to action and clear messaging. This was partly due to the club offering Traditional Chinese Medicine in addition to martial arts resulting in a message that was diluted between health and martial arts. In addition, the user experience was also a little clunky.

The other hurdle we faced was the integration of a health and fitness app called "MINDBODY". This app enrols all the students and takes all payments, so seamless integration was of utmost importance.

Moving Forward

Focusing on messaging and clarity of offerings felt like the most important first step.

The variety of martial arts services that the club offers is a unique selling point so this was an important message to convey to users on the homepage. We also clearly differentiated the Tradition Chinese Medicine clinic and the martial arts club. With clever design and professional copywriting, not only are the offerings now clear, the messaging is targeted to their ideal clientele. Discovering and targeting the right clientele is an essential step is an effective website. The website now flows beautifully with links and call to actions throughout helping the user navigate with ease.

The Outcome

The mindbody app was integrated and styled successfully, using an external API can always be challenging.

Working with the client, we researched the most appropriate search terms and set up all the pages with a plugin called Yoast which is perfect for organic SEO. The main goal of this site is to hopefully convert more sales and increase overall traffic. Within two days of going live, the new website had already converted its first customer.
